It is arather open cardioid and will pick up a lot of room sound, even right up to the speaker. Uses an M7 capsule. It's not an M7 capsule I'm afraid - the diaphragm is gold plated polyester. Now, I have no idea how it compares to the Microtech Gefell mic that you just bought, but regardless, the AT4060 is a relatively smooth, neutral sounding mic, with not any real "sizzle" (hyped high end) or whatever. But if I EQ the top end, it comes out really nicely.
