If it is the shift shaft seal, the valvebody has to come out, but on my 67you can change the SS seal w/o removing the trans. The kickdown o-ring is really not an o-ring, it has flat sides with grooves. WebMar 5, 2013 · The clearance I have above the shaft center-line and the first bend is 3/4" and the switch needs 1". The biggest challenge will be getting the nut off of the inside. I made a pair of wrenches for removing the selector shaft retaining nut on C4 and C6 transmissions.
